On the Horizon
It's hard to predict what the market will do in a day, let alone a quarter. Right now, there are many intriguing stocks in registration, of which Prudential Financial highlights the flow in backlog. However, will the market regain enough footing to restart the IPO gravy train? Analysts interviewed by IPO Monitor expect a rather slow finish to 2001. That same group anticipates a resurgent period for IPOs, starting in 2002. The bottom line: the market must cooperate and give the investment-banking community something to work with.
